Job Overview
This role involves designing, installing, and maintaining solar energy systems for residential, commercial, and public sector clients. The ideal candidate will collaborate with local communities to promote renewable energy adoption while ensuring technical excellence in solar infrastructure projects. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to Gambia’s transition to sustainable energy while working with state-of-the-art technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and related equipment
- Conduct site assessments and energy audits for solar feasibility studies
- Collaborate with local communities to educate on solar energy benefits and usage
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot technical issues
- Prepare technical reports and maintenance schedules
- Ensure compliance with national and international solar energy standards
Required Skills
- Technical expertise in solar panel installation and electrical systems
- Problem-solving skills for complex energy system challenges
- Strong communication abilities for client and community engagement
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and solar design software
- Knowledge of Gambian energy regulations and safety protocols
Education
Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Technology, or related field. Certifications in solar energy systems (e.g., NABCEP) are advantageous.
Experience
Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience in solar energy systems installation and maintenance. Experience with hybrid solar systems or energy storage solutions is preferred.
Salary
150,000 – 180,000 Dalasi per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
