Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Digital Forensic Investigator to join our growing Forensic Technology team in Soma. This role is central to our mission of providing expert investigative services to clients across various sectors, including financial services, government, and corporate entities. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting complex digital forensic examinations, managing incident response activities, and providing expert testimony when required. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct forensic acquisitions and examinations of digital evidence from computers, mobile devices, cloud storage, and network systems.
  • Lead and participate in cybersecurity incident response activities, including containment, eradication, and recovery.
  • Analyze digital evidence to identify indicators of compromise, data breaches, fraud, and other malicious activities.
  • Prepare detailed forensic reports and documentation for use in legal proceedings, internal investigations, and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide expert witness testimony in court or during arbitration proceedings, explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences.
  • Develop and maintain forensic procedures, methodologies, and tools to ensure compliance with industry standards and legal requirements.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, law enforcement agencies, and internal stakeholders to support investigation objectives.
  • Stay current with emerging threats, forensic technologies, and industry best practices through continuous professional development.
  • Mentor junior team members and contribute to the knowledge sharing culture within the Forensic Technology department.

Required Skills

  • Expert proficiency with digital forensic tools such as EnCase, FTK, X-Ways, Cellebrite, and open-source forensic utilities.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), file systems, and network protocols.
  • Advanced knowledge of malware analysis, memory forensics, and cloud forensics techniques.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex investigations simultaneously under tight deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for report writing and client presentations.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism when handling sensitive and confidential information.
  • Project management skills and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Digital Forensics, Information Technology, or a closely related field is required. Advanced degrees are advantageous. Professional certifications are highly valued and may include the GIAC Certified Forensic Analyst (GCFA), Certified Forensic Computer Examiner (CFCE), EnCase Certified Examiner (EnCE), or similar credentials. Continuous education in the rapidly evolving field of digital forensics is expected and supported by the firm.

Experience

A minimum of five years of hands-on experience in digital forensics, incident response, or a related cybersecurity investigation role is required. Candidates must have a proven track record of conducting forensic examinations in a professional, legal, or law enforcement context. Experience in a professional services or consulting environment is highly desirable. Demonstrated experience with evidence handling procedures, chain of custody, and testifying as an expert witness will be a significant advantage for this Job Vacancy in Gambia.
