Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Aquaculture Specialist to join our team in Sare Ngai, Gambia.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable aquaculture practices in the Gambia, working closely with local communities, governments, and private sector companies.
The position will involve conducting research, providing technical assistance, and building capacity in sustainable aquaculture practices among local communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices in the Gambia
- Conduct research on aquaculture and fisheries management
- Provide technical assistance to local communities and stakeholders
- Build capacity in sustainable aquaculture practices among local communities and stakeholders
- Collaborate with governments, private sector companies, and local communities to develop and implement sustainable aquaculture practices
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Aquaculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in aquaculture and fisheries management
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
Education
Master’s degree in Aquaculture or related field from a recognized university
Experience
5-7 years of experience in aquaculture and fisheries management, with a strong background in research and technical assistance
Salary
50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications
