Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Laboratory Technician to join our quality assurance team in Brikama. This role is critical to ensuring that every batch of product meets our rigorous global quality and safety standards. You will be responsible for conducting complex chemical and microbiological analyses, managing laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with food safety regulations. Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced chemical and microbiological testing on raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products.
- Maintain and calibrate sensitive laboratory instrumentation to ensure accuracy in all testing procedures.
- Document all test results meticulously in accordance with ISO and company-specific quality management systems.
- Identify deviations in product quality and initiate corrective actions to prevent non-conforming products from leaving the facility.
- Collaborate with the production team to optimize brewing processes through real-time analytical feedback.
- Ensure the laboratory environment complies with all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in analytical chemistry techniques including HPLC and spectrophotometry.
- Strong understanding of food safety management systems (HACCP and ISO 22000).
- Exceptional attention to detail and precision in data recording and analysis.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot laboratory equipment and process deviations.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Food Science, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline is mandatory. Advanced certifications in laboratory management or quality assurance are highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of hands-on experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the food, beverage, or pharmaceutical industry. Proven experience in managing quality control protocols in a high-volume manufacturing environment is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 65,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s expertise and technical proficiency.
