Job Overview

The Process Safety Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining robust safety systems for BASF’s manufacturing processes in Basse. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and Layer of Protection Analysis (LOPA) for all plant operations.
• Develop and maintain safety documentation, including Safety Cases, Operating Procedures, and Emergency Response Plans.
• Lead incident investigations, root‑cause analyses, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
• Collaborate with design engineers to integrate safety features into new equipment and process upgrades.
• Provide safety training and mentorship to operational staff and contractors.
• Monitor compliance with local regulatory requirements and BASF’s Global Safety Standards.
• Participate in internal and external safety audits, preparing reports and action plans.
• Support the implementation of advanced safety technologies such as digital twins and real‑time monitoring systems.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM) principles and standards (e.g., OSHA, IEC 61511).
• Proficiency in hazard identification tools such as HAZOP, FMEA, and Bow‑Tie analysis.

Education
