Job Overview
The Renewable Energy Project Coordinator will lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of solar energy initiatives in Serekunda. This role is pivotal in aligning SEI’s mission with Gambian energy policies and community needs. Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate the design and implementation of solar energy projects, including site assessments and system installations.
- Collaborate with local authorities, NGOs, and community leaders to secure project approvals and support.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and quality standards to ensure compliance with SEI’s global protocols.
- Conduct training sessions for local technicians and community members on solar system maintenance and safety.
- Prepare detailed progress reports and present findings to senior management and stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in project management or renewable energy development.
- Strong understanding of solar energy technologies and energy access challenges in developing regions.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Asana) and data analysis tools.
- Fluency in English and basic knowledge of local languages (e.g., Mandinka, Wolof) is an advantage.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree in Renewable Energy or Sustainable Development is preferred.
Experience
3-5 years of experience in renewable energy project coordination, preferably in West Africa. Experience with solar microgrid systems or community-based energy projects is highly desirable.
Salary
GMD 120,000 – GMD 150,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
