Job Overview

This role leads the planning, execution, and monitoring of renewable energy projects in collaboration with local stakeholders and international partners. The position requires strategic coordination of technical teams, community engagement, and compliance with environmental regulations. Candidates will contribute to Gambia’s energy transition goals while gaining exposure to cutting-edge technologies in the global energy sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation plans for renewable energy initiatives
  • Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and government agencies to ensure project compliance
  • Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new energy projects
  • Manage community relations and stakeholder communication for project acceptance
  • Monitor project performance and prepare progress reports for senior management
  • Implement health, safety, and environmental protocols on-site

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in energy project management with a focus on renewables
  • Strong understanding of energy sector regulations in West Africa
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera)
  • Ability to analyze technical data and generate actionable insights
  • Fluency in English and local languages (e.g., Mandinka, Wolof) is an advantage

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Professional certification in Project Management (PMP) is preferred

Experience

  • 3-5 years in energy project coordination or similar roles
  • Experience working on international development projects is advantageous

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 Dinar per annum, commensurate with experience.
