Job Overview
This role leads the coordination of renewable energy initiatives in Serekunda, focusing on project planning, stakeholder engagement, and technical implementation. The position reports directly to the Regional Director and plays a critical role in GRES’s 2026-2027 strategic goals to expand solar microgrid systems in The Gambia.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end execution of solar and wind energy projects
- Coordinate with local communities, government agencies, and international partners
- Prepare technical reports and project timelines for senior management
- Monitor project budgets and ensure compliance with environmental regulations
- Conduct site assessments and feasibility studies for new energy installations
Required Skills
- Project management certification (PMP or equivalent)
- Proficiency in environmental impact assessment tools
- Strong stakeholder negotiation and communication skills
- Experience with MS Project and energy modeling software
- Fluency in English and basic knowledge of local languages
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or Renewable Energy. Advanced degree preferred but not required.
Experience
3-5 years in renewable energy project coordination, with at least one completed large-scale solar/wind project in West Africa.
Salary
150,000 – 200,000 Dinar annually, based on experience and project performance metrics.
