Job Overview

This role leads end-to-end coordination of renewable energy projects in southern Gambia. The position reports to the West Africa Regional Director and works closely with government agencies, local partners, and international stakeholders. Key Responsibilities

• Manage project timelines, budgets, and deliverables for solar/wind installations
• Coordinate with local authorities for permits and regulatory compliance
• Supervise site assessments and technical feasibility studies
• Develop community engagement strategies for project acceptance
• Monitor project performance metrics and sustainability impact
• Maintain documentation for international funding partners

Required Skills

• Proven experience in energy project management
• Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies
• Excellent stakeholder communication and negotiation skills
• Proficiency in project management software (MS Project, Primavera)
• Fluency in English and basic knowledge of local languages
• Ability to work in remote field locations

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s Degree in Energy Management or Sustainable Development is a strong advantage.

Experience

3-5 years of experience in energy project coordination, preferably in Sub-Saharan Africa. Experience with World Bank or African Development Bank-funded projects is preferred.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 GMD per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
