Job Overview
The Policy Analyst will support the Policy & Planning Department by conducting comprehensive research, drafting policy briefs, and evaluating the impact of fiscal initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in‑depth research on fiscal policy, taxation, public expenditure, and economic reforms.
- Prepare policy briefs, analytical reports, and executive summaries for senior leadership.
- Assess the socioeconomic impact of proposed legislation and budgetary allocations.
- Coordinate with ministries, agencies, and development partners to gather data and insights.
- Monitor and evaluate the implementation of existing policies, identifying gaps and recommending improvements.
- Support the development of the annual national budget and medium‑term fiscal frameworks.
- Present findings and recommendations to parliamentary committees and stakeholder forums.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., STATA, R, Excel).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, capable of translating complex data into clear policy advice.
- Knowledge of public finance, macroeconomic indicators, and development economics.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in drafting policy documents, briefing notes, and legislative summaries.
- Effective stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Economics, Finance, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CFA) is highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Applicants must have 3‑5 years of experience in policy analysis, economic research, or a related field within government, think‑tanks, international development agencies, or consultancy firms. Experience with budget formulation, fiscal impact analysis, and stakeholder coordination is essential.
Salary
The Ministry offers a competitive salary range of SSP 120,000 to SSP 180,000 per month, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Additional allowances for transportation, housing, and professional development may be provided.
