Job Overview:WorldFish is seeking a Sustainable Aquaculture Specialist to join our team in Janjanbureh, Gambia. The successful candidate will work with our team to design and implement sustainable aquaculture projects in the Gambia. The position will involve working with small-scale fishers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to improve the sustainability of aquaculture practices in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and implement sustainable aquaculture projects in the Gambia
- Work with small-scale fishers, government agencies, and other stakeholders to improve the sustainability of aquaculture practices
- Conduct research on sustainable aquaculture practices and their impact on small-scale fishers and their communities
- Develop and implement training programs for small-scale fishers on sustainable aquaculture practices
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of sustainable aquaculture projects on small-scale fishers and their communities
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Aquaculture or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in sustainable aquaculture or related field
- Strong research and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team and with diverse stakeholders
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Aquaculture or related field
