Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified Senior Metallurgical Engineer to lead our mineral processing initiatives in Brikama. This role is critical to our success in the region, as you will oversee the complex chemical and physical processes used to extract valuable metals from raw ore. Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement advanced metallurgical testing protocols to optimize ore recovery rates.
- Oversee the operation of crushing, grinding, and flotation circuits to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Analyze chemical compositions of processed materials to maintain strict quality control standards.
- Develop and execute strategies for tailings management and waste reduction to minimize environmental impact.
- Lead technical teams in troubleshooting complex processing issues within the mineral extraction plant.
- Collaborate with geological teams to interpret ore characteristics and adjust processing parameters accordingly.

- Advanced proficiency in metallurgical modeling and simulation software.
- Deep understanding of hydrometallurgical and pyrometallurgical processes.

Education
A Master’s Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a closely related field is mandatory. A PhD in Materials Science or specialized Mineral Processing is highly preferred for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of direct experience in mineral processing or metallurgical engineering within a large-scale mining environment. Proven track record of optimizing plant throughput and managing complex chemical extraction processes is essential. Experience in African mining operations is a significant advantage.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s specific expertise and technical certifications. This package is competitive within the local market for specialized engineering roles.
