Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Geologist to join our exploration team in Brikama. This role is critical to our success in identifying and evaluating potential hydrocarbon reservoirs. The successful candidate will be responsible for interpreting complex seismic data, constructing detailed geological models, and providing strategic insights that guide our drilling programs. This is a high-impact position that requires a deep understanding of sedimentary basins and advanced geophysical techniques.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the interpretation of 2D and 3D seismic data to identify potential drilling targets.
- Develop and maintain complex 3D geological models of subsurface reservoirs.
- Perform detailed petrophysical analysis to evaluate rock properties and fluid content.
- Collaborate with the reservoir engineering team to predict hydrocarbon flow and recovery rates.
- Conduct risk assessments for exploration drilling programs to minimize geological uncertainty.
- Supervise junior geologists and provide technical mentorship within the exploration department.
- Integrate well log data with seismic data to refine structural and stratigraphic interpretations.
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in geological modeling software such as Petrel or similar industry-standard tools.
- Expertise in seismic interpretation and structural geology.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize large datasets into actionable insights.
- In-depth knowledge of sedimentary basin analysis and petroleum systems.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong project management capabilities and ability to lead multidisciplinary teams.
Education
A minimum of a Master’s Degree in Geology, Earth Sciences, or a closely related field is required. A PhD is highly preferred and will be considered an advantage for this senior-level position.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in petroleum geology, specifically within exploration and development environments. Proven experience in offshore or complex onshore basin analysis is essential. A track record of successful well placement and reservoir characterization is highly desirable.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience, qualifications, and technical expertise.
