Job Overview

The Cybersecurity Threat Analyst will play a pivotal role in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating cyber threats targeting Google’s services and its regional partners. Working within the Security Operations Center (SOC), the analyst will monitor security alerts, conduct threat intelligence research, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to develop proactive defense strategies. Key Responsibilities

• Monitor real‑time security alerts and investigate incidents using SIEM, IDS/IPS, and endpoint detection tools.
• Conduct deep‑dive threat analysis, including malware reverse engineering, phishing campaign attribution, and vulnerability exploitation assessment.
• Develop and maintain threat intelligence feeds, integrating open‑source and commercial sources to enrich detection capabilities.
• Collaborate with incident response teams to contain, eradicate, and recover from security breaches.
• Produce detailed incident reports and executive briefings, highlighting root causes, impact, and remediation recommendations.
• Participate in threat hunting exercises, leveraging analytics and behavioral modeling to uncover hidden adversaries.
• Assist in the design and implementation of security controls, policies, and best practices aligned with industry standards such as NIST and ISO 27001.
• Stay current with global cyber threat trends, emerging attack vectors, and regulatory changes affecting the region.

Required Skills

• Proficiency with security monitoring platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Elastic Stack).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and cloud security architectures.
• Experience with malware analysis tools (e.g., IDA Pro, Ghidra) and sandbox environments.
• Knowledge of scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation.
• Excellent analytical thinking, problem‑solving abilities, and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for translating technical findings to non‑technical stakeholders.

Education

Experience
