Job Overview: We are seeking a Digital Humanities Researcher to join our team in Brikama, Gambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research in digital humanities, developing and implementing digital preservation strategies, and collaborating with colleagues to advance the field of digital humanities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in digital humanities, including the development of digital preservation strategies and the analysis of digital cultural heritage materials.
- Collaborate with colleagues to advance the field of digital humanities, including the development of new methods and tools for digital preservation and analysis.
- Develop and implement digital preservation strategies for the British Library’s collections, including the development of digital repositories and the implementation of digital preservation workflows.
- Provide training and support to colleagues on digital preservation and analysis methods and tools.
Required Skills:
- Ph.D. in Digital Humanities or a related field.
- Experience in digital preservation and analysis, including the development of digital repositories and the implementation of digital preservation workflows.
- Strong research and analytical skills, including the ability to design and conduct research projects and to analyze and interpret data.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
Education: Ph.D. in Digital Humanities or a related field.
Experience: 5-7 years of experience in digital humanities research and preservation.
Salary: 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum.
