Job Overview

The Geospatial Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in collecting, processing, and visualizing spatial data to support client projects and internal initiatives. Working closely with senior GIS specialists, data scientists, and project managers, you will transform satellite imagery, survey data, and field observations into interactive maps, dashboards, and analytical reports. Key Responsibilities

• Acquire, clean, and integrate geospatial datasets from satellite imagery, GPS surveys, and open‑source platforms.
• Develop and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data integrity, metadata standards, and version control.
• Create thematic maps, 3D visualizations, and interactive web applications using ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and related tools.
• Perform spatial analysis to identify patterns, trends, and relationships relevant to client objectives, such as land suitability, risk assessment, and resource allocation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate analytical findings into actionable recommendations for government ministries, NGOs, and private sector partners.
• Prepare technical documentation, data dictionaries, and presentation materials for stakeholders.
• Support the development of custom GIS tools and scripts using Python, ModelBuilder, or JavaScript APIs.
• Participate in field data collection missions, providing technical guidance and ensuring data quality.
• Stay updated on emerging geospatial technologies, standards, and best practices, and share knowledge within the team.

Required Skills

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online platforms.
• Strong analytical skills with experience in spatial statistics, network analysis, and raster/vector processing.
• Programming competence in Python (ArcPy) and familiarity with JavaScript for web mapping.
• Ability to work with remote sensing data, including multispectral and LiDAR datasets.
• Excellent communication skills for presenting complex spatial concepts to non‑technical audiences.
• Attention to detail, problem‑solving mindset, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Esri Story Maps is a plus.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is required. Candidates with a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) will be given preference.

Experience
