Job Overview

The Marine Surveyor will be responsible for conducting comprehensive inspections, assessments, and certifications of vessels, cargo, and port facilities to guarantee compliance with international maritime regulations and local statutes. Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough pre‑arrival, during‑stay, and post‑departure vessel inspections to assess structural integrity, safety equipment, and compliance with SOLAS, MARPOL, and local regulations.
• Perform cargo surveys, including verification of loading plans, weight distribution, and hazardous material handling, ensuring adherence to International Maritime Dangerous Goods (IMDG) Code.
• Prepare detailed survey reports, risk assessments, and certification documents, presenting findings to ship masters, owners, and port officials.
• Collaborate with the Operations & Safety department to develop and update inspection checklists, safety procedures, and emergency response protocols.
• Provide technical guidance and training to junior surveyors and port staff on best practices in marine safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintain accurate logs of survey activities, equipment calibrations, and incident reports in GPA’s digital database.
• Participate in audits conducted by international classification societies and flag states, facilitating corrective actions and continuous improvement.
