Job Overview

The Refinery Process Engineer will play a pivotal role in designing, optimizing, and overseeing the core processes of the new refinery. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the engineer will ensure that production targets are met while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental compliance. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process designs for distillation, conversion, and treatment units.
• Monitor and analyze process performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless integration of new technologies.
• Conduct hazard and operability studies (HAZOP) and risk assessments.
• Ensure compliance with local and international environmental regulations.
• Provide technical support during start‑up, commissioning, and ramp‑up phases.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation for senior management.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge transfer within the team.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of refinery processes, including crude distillation, catalytic cracking, and hydroprocessing.
• Proficiency in process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or PRO/II.
• Excellent problem‑solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective communication skills for interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines.
• Commitment to safety culture and environmental stewardship.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related discipline is required. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) are considered an advantage.

Experience

Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in refinery operations or process engineering, preferably within a multinational energy company. Experience with project execution in emerging markets is highly valued.

Salary

The position offers a competitive salary ranging from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additional performance‑based incentives are available.
