The Water Resource Management Specialist will lead initiatives to monitor water quality, assess basin health, and develop strategies for equitable water distribution. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct hydrological assessments and data analysis to inform water management policies.
  • Design and implement watershed protection programs in collaboration with local communities.
  • Monitor water quality parameters and report on compliance with national and international standards.
  • Develop flood mitigation strategies and emergency response plans for vulnerable regions.
  • Coordinate with stakeholders, including government agencies and NGOs, to ensure integrated resource management.

Required Skills

  • Expertise in GIS mapping and remote sensing for water resource modeling.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, Python).
  • Excellent communication abilities for stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy.
  • Experience in climate change adaptation and resilience-building projects.
  • Ability to work in remote field locations with limited infrastructure.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Science, Water Resource Management, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred, with a focus on sustainable development or hydrology.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in water resource management, preferably in West African contexts.
  • Proven track record in project planning and execution within environmental sectors.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 Dinar per month, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
