Job Overview
The Environmental Conservation Specialist will be responsible for implementing conservation projects in Gambia, working closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental conservation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement conservation projects in Gambia, in collaboration with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct fieldwork, including surveys, monitoring, and data collection, to inform conservation efforts.
- Build and maintain relationships with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts.
- Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring effective use of resources.
- Collaborate with other Conservancy staff to develop and implement conservation strategies.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, preferably in a developing country.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field, combined with relevant experience, may be considered.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, preferably in a developing country. Experience working with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders is highly desirable.
Salary
The salary for this position is 40000-60000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
