Job Overview
The Human Resources Director will play a pivotal role in aligning our people strategy with our long-term business objectives. This is a high-impact leadership position responsible for overseeing all aspects of the employee lifecycle, from talent acquisition and organizational development to performance management and employee relations. You will be a strategic partner to the senior leadership team, providing expert guidance on workforce planning, culture building, and organizational effectiveness. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive HR strategies that support business goals and promote a high-performance culture.
- Lead the talent acquisition strategy to attract, recruit, and retain top-tier professional talent in the Gambia.
- Oversee compensation and benefits programs to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
- Drive organizational development initiatives, including leadership training and succession planning.
- Manage complex employee relations issues and ensure compliance with local labor laws and international standards.
- Provide strategic counsel to senior management on organizational design and workforce optimization.
- Monitor and report on key HR metrics to drive data-informed decision-making.
Required Skills
- Advanced strategic thinking and ability to translate business needs into HR initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership and people management capabilities.
- Deep understanding of Gambian labor laws and international HR best practices.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills at the executive level.
- Proficiency in HR Information Systems (HRIS) and data analytics.

Education
A Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a related field is mandatory. Professional certification such as SHRM-SCP or CIPD is highly preferred.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in human resources, with at least 4 years in a senior management or director-level role within a professional services or multinational environment. Proven track record of managing large-scale organizational changes is essential.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 45,000 SSP to 75,000 SSP, depending on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
