Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Conservation Specialist to join our team in Sambangali, Gambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing conservation projects that protect and restore natural habitats, promote sustainable land-use practices, and support community-led conservation initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental conservation, with experience in project development, implementation, and monitoring. They will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement conservation projects that protect and restore natural habitats, promote sustainable land-use practices, and support community-led conservation initiatives.
• Work closely with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to develop and implement conservation projects that benefit both people and the environment.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of conservation projects, and make recommendations for improvement.
• Develop and maintain relationships with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders to promote conservation efforts and build support for our projects.

Required Skills

• Strong background in environmental conservation, with experience in project development, implementation, and monitoring.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with local communities, governments, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and make sound judgments.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field.

Experience

5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation, with a focus on project development, implementation, and monitoring.

Salary

40000-60000 SSP per year.
