Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Environmental Consultant to join our team in Brikama, Gambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading environmental impact assessments, developing conservation strategies, and collaborating with local stakeholders to promote sustainable development.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead environmental impact assessments and develop conservation strategies for WWF projects in Gambia
• Collaborate with local stakeholders, including government agencies, communities, and private sector partners, to promote sustainable development and conservation
• Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation plans to track the effectiveness of conservation efforts
• Provide technical guidance and support to WWF staff and partners on environmental conservation and sustainable development

Required Skills

• Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Conservation Biology, or related field
• At least 5 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainable development
• Proven track record of leading environmental impact assessments and developing conservation strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with diverse stakeholders

Education

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field. A Master’s degree is an asset.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have at least 5-7 years of experience in environmental conservation and sustainable development, with a proven track record of leading environmental impact assessments and developing conservation strategies.

Salary

The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
