Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Environmental Geologist to join our team in Janjanbureh, Gambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting geological surveys and investigations to inform environmental management decisions. You will work closely with our team of geologists, engineers, and scientists to deliver high-quality research and advice to our clients.
The ideal candidate will have a Master’s degree in Geology or a related field, and at least 5 years of experience in environmental geology. You will have excellent communication and project management skills, and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct geological surveys and investigations to inform environmental management decisions
- Work closely with our team of geologists, engineers, and scientists to deliver high-quality research and advice to our clients
- Develop and implement effective project management plans to ensure timely and within-budget delivery of projects
- Communicate complex scientific information to non-technical stakeholders
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement new research and advice
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Geology or related field
- At least 5 years of experience in environmental geology
- Excellent communication and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Education
The successful candidate will have a Master’s degree in Geology or a related field. A Ph.D. in Geology or a related field would be an advantage.
Experience
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in environmental geology. You will have worked on a variety of projects, including geological surveys, environmental impact assessments, and research studies.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience.
