Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Maritime Logistics and Port Security Coordinator to oversee and integrate our port logistics operations with robust security protocols at the Port of Banjul. This unique role sits at the critical intersection of supply chain efficiency and maritime security, ensuring that all cargo handling, vessel operations, and storage activities comply with both operational best practices and stringent international security regulations, including the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and continuously review the Port Facility Security Plan (PFSP) in full compliance with the ISPS Code and relevant Gambian maritime regulations.
- Coordinate daily logistics operations within the port perimeter, including vessel berthing schedules, cargo discharge/loading sequences, and yard management, ensuring alignment with security requirements.
- Act as the primary liaison between Bolloré operations, the Gambia Ports Authority, the Gambia Navy, customs officials, and other relevant government security bodies.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and security audits of port facilities, cargo, and processes; implement corrective actions and contingency plans.
- Manage access control systems for port personnel, vehicles, and visitors, ensuring strict adherence to security clearance protocols.
- Oversee the security screening of containers and break-bulk cargo, coordinating with scanning operators and customs for efficient inspection.
- Lead incident response and crisis management for any security breach or operational disruption within the port, ensuring minimal impact on logistics flow.
- Analyze logistics data to identify bottlenecks and propose integrated security-logistics solutions to improve throughput and safety.
- Prepare and submit regular reports on port security status, incident logs, and operational performance to senior management and regulatory authorities.
- Train and mentor port staff and contracted security personnel on integrated security and logistics procedures, fostering a culture of vigilance and efficiency.
