The Production Engineer will be responsible for optimizing the performance of TotalEnergies’ oil and gas assets in The Gambia. Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze daily production data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and implement production enhancement strategies, including artificial lift, well stimulation, and flow assurance measures.
- Collaborate with drilling, completions, and reservoir teams to design and execute workovers, interventions, and tie‑backs.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards across all production activities.
- Prepare technical reports, production forecasts, and performance dashboards for senior management.
- Participate in asset integrity reviews, risk assessments, and emergency response planning.
- Support budgeting, cost control, and economic evaluation of production projects.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge sharing within the production team.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in production software (e.g., PETEX, Prosper, PI System).
- In‑depth knowledge of well engineering, artificial lift systems, and flow assurance.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to make data‑driven decisions under pressure.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management across multicultural teams.
- Familiarity with international safety standards such as OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for data modeling.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field is required. Advanced degrees (M.Sc. or Ph.D.) or professional certifications (e.g., PE, IADC WellSharp) are considered an asset and demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in oil and gas production engineering, preferably within offshore or onshore fields. Experience with TotalEnergies’ operational platforms, or similar multinational energy companies, will be highly valued. Demonstrated success in improving production rates, reducing downtime, and implementing cost‑effective solutions is essential.
Salary
