Job Overview
The Senior Hydropower Engineer will play a critical role in the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale hydroelectric projects across the region. This role requires a deep understanding of turbine mechanics, fluid dynamics, and electrical integration. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of hydropower assets, from initial feasibility studies to long-term operational optimization. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical design and engineering specifications for new hydroelectric installations.
- Oversee the installation and commissioning of turbines, generators, and control systems.
- Conduct rigorous performance testing and efficiency analysis on existing hydropower plants.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams of technicians and junior engineers during site operations.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with international safety and environmental standards.
- Develop predictive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize plant longevity.

Education

Experience
A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in hydropower plant engineering or large-scale renewable energy projects is required. Proven experience in the African energy market is highly desirable.
Salary
The monthly salary for this position ranges from 450,000 SSP to 750,000 SSP, depending on experience and technical expertise. This is a highly competitive package within the local market.
