Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Sustainable Geospatial Analyst to join our team in Basse, Gambia. As a key member of our geospatial analysis department, you will be responsible for analyzing satellite imagery and data to support sustainable development initiatives, environmental conservation efforts, and disaster risk reduction programs.
With a strong background in geospatial science and experience working with satellite data, you will contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address the unique challenges facing Gambia and the wider region.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze satellite imagery and data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to sustainable development and environmental conservation efforts
- Develop and implement geospatial analysis techniques and tools to support data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and private sector partners to design and implement sustainable development projects
- Contribute to the development of innovative solutions that address pressing challenges such as deforestation, climate change, and resource management
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Geospatial Science or related field
- 5-7 years of experience in geospatial analysis, satellite data analysis, or a related field
- Strong background in geospatial science, including spatial analysis, remote sensing, and GIS
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB
- Experience working with satellite data and geospatial analysis software
Education
Master’s degree in Geospatial Science or related field from a recognized institution
Experience
5-7 years of experience in geospatial analysis, satellite data analysis, or a related field
Salary
50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum
