Job Overview

The Data Center Operations Manager will lead the planning, implementation, and day‑to‑day management of Huawei’s data center facilities in Gambia. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the successful candidate will ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security of all critical IT infrastructure, aligning with global standards and local regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, deployment, and maintenance of data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, networking, and power systems.
  • Develop and enforce operational policies, procedures, and SLAs to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and security, implementing proactive measures to prevent downtime.
  • Coordinate with cross‑functional teams to support cloud, AI, and IoT solutions for enterprise clients.
  • Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement of hardware and services.
  • Oversee budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting for data center operations.
  • Lead incident response, root‑cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Strong knowledge of data center architecture, virtualization, and cloud platforms.
  • Proficiency in monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix) and automation frameworks (e.g., Ansible, PowerShell).

Education
