Job Overview

The Supply Chain Risk Manager will lead the identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks across Cargill Gambia’s end‑to‑end supply chain. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive supply chain risk management framework tailored to Cargill Gambia’s operations.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments covering supplier reliability, transportation disruptions, geopolitical factors, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with procurement to evaluate supplier financial health and implement contingency sourcing strategies.
  • Monitor market volatility, commodity price fluctuations, and climate‑related risks that could impact supply continuity.
  • Prepare risk dashboards and executive reports for senior leadership, highlighting key risk indicators and mitigation actions.
  • Lead cross‑functional risk workshops and training sessions to embed a risk‑aware culture throughout the organization.
  • Coordinate with the compliance team to ensure adherence to local and international trade regulations.
  • Implement and test business continuity plans, including emergency response protocols for logistics disruptions.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical abilities with proficiency in risk modeling, data visualization, and scenario planning.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex risk concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Deep understanding of agribusiness supply chains, especially grain and oilseed logistics in West Africa.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and risk management software.
  • Negotiation and stakeholder management experience with suppliers, transport providers, and government agencies.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.

Education

A Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Risk Management Professional (RMP) are highly desirable.

Minimum of five years of experience in supply chain risk assessment, preferably within the agribusiness or food processing sector. Demonstrated success in developing risk mitigation strategies and leading cross‑functional risk initiatives is essential.

Salary
