We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sustainable Disaster Risk Reduction Specialist to join our team in Soma, Gambia. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of disaster risk reduction and management projects in the region.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of disaster risk reduction and management projects in the region.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop risk reduction strategies for communities and organizations.
- Collaborate with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups to promote disaster risk reduction and management practices.
- Develop and implement training programs for disaster risk reduction and management.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of disaster risk reduction and management projects.
Required Skills
- Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Reduction, Environmental Sustainability, or related field.
- 8-12 years of experience in disaster risk reduction and management.
- Proven track record of leading disaster risk reduction and management projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
Education
The successful candidate must have a Master’s degree in Disaster Risk Reduction, Environmental Sustainability, or a related field. A Ph.D. in a related field is an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate must have 8-12 years of experience in disaster risk reduction and management, with a proven track record of leading projects in the region.
Salary
The salary for this position is 50,000 – 70,000 SSP per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
