Job Overview
The Construction Project Controls Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring that CRCC’s projects in Gambia are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working closely with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors, you will develop and maintain cost‑control systems, schedule monitoring tools, and performance reporting mechanisms. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 or MS Project, ensuring alignment with contractual milestones.
- Prepare cost estimates, budgets, and cash‑flow forecasts, and monitor actual expenditures against planned budgets.
- Generate regular performance reports, variance analyses, and risk assessments for senior management.
- Coordinate with procurement and contracts teams to track change orders, variations, and claim submissions.
- Implement earned value management (EVM) techniques to assess project health and forecast completion dates.
- Support the preparation of progress claims, invoicing, and financial audits.
- Facilitate weekly project control meetings, presenting data‑driven insights to stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and CRCC’s internal quality procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in project scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project) and cost‑control tools.
- Strong analytical abilities with a solid grasp of earned value management concepts.
- Excellent communication skills for reporting to multidisciplinary teams and senior executives.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of Gambian construction codes, procurement practices, and labor regulations.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of French or local languages is an advantage.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline is required. Professional certifications such as PMP, PMI‑ACP, or a recognized earned value certification are highly desirable.
Experience
Candidates must have a minimum of five years’ experience in project controls within the construction sector, preferably on large‑scale infrastructure projects such as highways, bridges, or railways. Experience working in West Africa or other emerging markets is a strong plus.
Salary
The successful applicant will receive a competitive monthly salary ranging from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salary reviews are conducted annually based on performance and market benchmarks.
