Job Overview

The Renewable Energy Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in structuring, evaluating, and managing the financial aspects of renewable energy projects across Gambia. Reporting to the Finance Manager, the analyst will collaborate with engineering, legal, and commercial teams to ensure robust financial models, secure funding, and monitor project performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain detailed financial models for solar, wind, and hybrid projects, incorporating capital expenditures, operating costs, revenue streams, and tax implications.
  • Conduct feasibility studies, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments to support investment decisions and secure financing from banks, development agencies, and equity partners.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, cash flow forecasts, and performance dashboards for senior management and external stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with legal and regulatory teams to ensure compliance with Gambian energy regulations, tax codes, and international financing standards.
  • Assist in negotiating loan agreements, power purchase agreements (PPAs), and other contractual documents.
  • Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and identify cost‑saving opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Support the preparation of grant applications and sustainability certifications to enhance project eligibility for green financing.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to align financial assumptions with technical specifications and project timelines.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling software (Excel, VBA) and familiarity with project finance platforms.

Education
