Job Overview

The Mining Project Finance Analyst will play a pivotal role in evaluating the financial viability of new and existing mining projects across the region. Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will be responsible for developing detailed financial models, conducting sensitivity analyses, and preparing investment memoranda for senior leadership and external stakeholders. This role requires close collaboration with geologists, engineers, operations managers, and external financiers to ensure that all financial assumptions are realistic and aligned with operational plans. The analyst will also monitor project performance against budgets, identify cost‑saving opportunities, and support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial reports. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models for mining projects, including cash flow, NPV, IRR, and payback period calculations.
  • Perform scenario and sensitivity analyses to assess the impact of commodity price fluctuations, exchange rates, and operational risks.
  • Prepare detailed investment memoranda, executive summaries, and presentation decks for senior management and potential investors.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to gather accurate cost estimates, production forecasts, and operational schedules.
  • Monitor project budgets, track actual expenditures, and report variances with actionable recommendations.
  • Support the negotiation of financing terms with banks, sovereign lenders, and private equity partners.
  • Ensure compliance with Glencore’s internal financial policies, as well as local regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or specialized software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for report preparation and stakeholder presentations.
  • Knowledge of mining operations, cost structures, and commodity markets.
  • Familiarity with corporate finance concepts, capital budgeting, and risk assessment.

Education

Experience
