Job Overview
The Community Health and Nutrition Program Coordinator will lead the design and implementation of public health initiatives in Niamina, focusing on maternal and child nutrition, disease prevention, and health education. This role requires collaboration with local clinics, schools, and community leaders to ensure equitable access to healthcare resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute community health programs targeting malnutrition and infectious diseases.
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers to conduct health screenings and vaccination campaigns.
- Design educational materials and workshops on hygiene, nutrition, and maternal health.
- Monitor program impact through data collection and reporting to stakeholders.
- Secure funding and resources through grant proposals and partnerships.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in public health program coordination.
- Strong understanding of Gambian healthcare systems and cultural contexts.
- Excellent project management and cross-cultural communication skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS) and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and in multidisciplinary teams.
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Social Work, or related field.
- Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in community health, nutrition, or social development programs.
- Previous work in rural or underserved areas is highly advantageous.
Salary
150,000 – 180,000 Dalasi per annum, commensurate with experience.
