Job Overview
The Solar Project Development Engineer will lead the planning, design, and execution of solar power projects from concept through commissioning. This role involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams, local stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to ensure projects meet technical, financial, and environmental standards. The engineer will be instrumental in identifying viable sites, conducting resource assessments, and preparing detailed project proposals that attract investment and support national energy objectives.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct solar resource assessments, feasibility studies, and site selection analyses for new projects.
- Develop detailed engineering designs, including layout, electrical schematics, and balance‑of‑system specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive project proposals, cost estimates, and financial models to secure funding.
- Coordinate with local authorities, landowners, and utility companies to obtain permits and grid interconnection agreements.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams, including civil, electrical, and procurement engineers, to ensure timely project delivery.
- Monitor project progress, manage risks, and implement mitigation strategies throughout the development lifecycle.
- Ensure compliance with international standards, local regulations, and Siemens Gamesa’s quality and safety protocols.
- Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover phases.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of solar PV technologies, system design, and performance modeling tools (e.g., PVSyst, SAM).
- Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities with a data‑driven approach.
- Effective communication and negotiation skills for stakeholder engagement.
- Ability to work independently and lead cross‑functional teams in a multicultural environment.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energy Engineering, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in solar energy (e.g., NABCEP) are considered an asset.
Experience
Minimum of five years of hands‑on experience in solar project development, including site assessment, design, permitting, and financial modeling. Experience working on utility‑scale projects (≥10 MW) in emerging markets is highly desirable.
Salary
The successful candidate will receive a competitive annual salary ranging from 2,500,000 to 3,500,000 SSP, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses and benefits are included in the total compensation package.
