Job Overview
The E‑commerce Operations Manager will lead the end‑to‑end operational processes that power Jumia’s online marketplace in Gambia. Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, you will be responsible for overseeing order fulfillment, inventory management, logistics coordination, and customer service excellence. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills, capable of optimizing processes, managing cross‑functional teams, and ensuring that service level agreements are consistently met. You will work closely with technology, marketing, and finance teams to align operational initiatives with business objectives, driving growth and profitability. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in scaling Jumia’s presence in Kuntaur and contributing to the broader mission of expanding digital commerce throughout West Africa.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve order processing speed and accuracy.
- Manage daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and shipping.
- Coordinate with logistics partners to ensure timely and cost‑effective delivery across Gambia.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order fulfillment rate, inventory turnover, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead a team of supervisors, warehouse staff, and customer service representatives, providing coaching and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with the technology team to integrate automation tools and data analytics into operational workflows.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Prepare regular operational reports for senior management, highlighting trends, challenges, and improvement opportunities.

Salary
The compensation package ranges from 1,200,000 to 1,800,000 SSP per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Performance‑based bonuses are also part of the total rewards.
