Job Overview
The Network Operations Manager will lead a high‑performing team responsible for the design, deployment, monitoring, and optimization of Orange Gambia’s core and access networks. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day network operations, including fault management, performance monitoring, and incident resolution.
- Develop and implement network optimization strategies to improve latency, throughput, and overall Quality of Service (QoS).
- Lead capacity planning initiatives, forecasting traffic growth and recommending infrastructure upgrades.
- Coordinate with vendors and partners for equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance contracts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal security policies.
- Mentor and develop network engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Prepare and present operational reports to senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators and improvement plans.
Required Skills
- Deep expertise in LTE, 4G/5G core networks, IP routing, and optical transport technologies.
- Proficiency with network management tools such as OSS/BSS platforms, NMS, and performance analytics suites.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, with a data‑driven approach to decision making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Project management experience, preferably with PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Education
A Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline is required. Advanced certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent are highly desirable and will be considered an asset during the selection process.
Experience
Candidates must possess a minimum of five years of progressive experience in telecom network operations, with at least two years in a supervisory or managerial capacity. Experience in emerging markets, particularly within West Africa, is advantageous, as is familiarity with regulatory frameworks governing telecommunications in The Gambia.
Salary
The compensation package ranges from SSP 150,000 to SSP 250,000 per month, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and performance. The package includes performance‑based bonuses, health insurance, and a retirement savings plan.
