Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Pharmaceutical Quality Control Laboratory Manager to lead our state-of-the-art QC laboratory in Bwiam. This is a critical leadership role responsible for ensuring all raw materials, in-process samples, and finished pharmaceutical products meet stringent quality specifications and regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the Quality Control laboratory, including chemical, microbiological, and physical testing.
  • Ensure all laboratory testing is performed in compliance with approved procedures, GMP, GLP, and company policies.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of QC analysts, technicians, and support staff, fostering a culture of quality and safety.
  • Author, review, and approve standard operating procedures (SOPs), test methods, specifications, and laboratory investigations (OOS/OOT).
  • Manage laboratory resources, including budgeting, procurement of equipment and reagents, and inventory control.
  • Ensure timely calibration, qualification, and maintenance of all laboratory equipment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality control during regulatory inspections and internal audits.
  • Analyze QC data trends, prepare management review reports, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Production, and Regulatory Affairs departments to resolve quality issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance laboratory efficiency, data integrity, and operational excellence.

Required Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical analytical techniques (HPLC, GC, Dissolution, Spectroscopy, Microbiology).
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
  • Expert understanding of GMP, GLP, ICH guidelines, and pharmacopoeial standards (USP, EP, BP).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficient in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and data analysis software.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for effective cross-functional collaboration.
  • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and a relentless commitment to quality.

Education

A Master’s degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific discipline is required. A PhD in a relevant field will be considered a significant advantage. Additional certifications in Quality Management, Auditing, or Laboratory Management are highly desirable.
