Job Overview:Our team in Janjanbureh, Gambia is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sustainable Urban Planner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing sustainable urban planning strategies that promote economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability. The position requires a strong understanding of urban planning principles, policies, and practices, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement sustainable urban planning strategies that promote economic growth, social equity, and environmental sustainability.
- Conduct research and analysis on urban planning trends, policies, and best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, and private sector representatives, to develop and implement urban planning projects.
- Develop and manage project budgets, timelines, and resources.
- Provide technical assistance and training to government officials and community leaders on urban planning principles and practices.
Required Skills:
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable development.
- Strong understanding of urban planning principles, policies, and practices.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with stakeholders.
Education:
- Master’s degree in Urban Planning or a related field.
- Relevant certifications, such as LEED AP or CNU-A.
Experience:
- 5-7 years of experience in urban planning, with a focus on sustainable development.
- Experience working in a team environment and collaborating with stakeholders.
- Experience developing and implementing urban planning projects.
Salary:25,000 – 35,000 SSP per month
