Job Overview

GISCorp seeks a Sustainable Manufacturing Process Engineer to design and optimize production systems that prioritize environmental responsibility. This role is critical to advancing GISCorp’s mission of sustainable industrialization in Gambia. The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop energy-efficient processes, minimize waste, and ensure compliance with international sustainability standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement sustainable manufacturing processes for textile and biodegradable product lines.
  • Conduct lifecycle assessments to identify opportunities for reducing carbon footprint and resource consumption.
  • Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate renewable energy solutions into production workflows.
  • Monitor and report on compliance with ISO 14001 and other environmental regulations.
  • Train staff on best practices for waste reduction, energy efficiency, and sustainable material sourcing.
  • Develop metrics to track sustainability performance and present findings to senior management.

Required Skills

  • Proven expertise in lean manufacturing and circular economy principles.
  • Proficiency in CAD software and process simulation tools (e.g., Siemens Tecnomatix).
  • Strong analytical skills for evaluating energy consumption and emissions data.
  • Experience with waste-to-energy technologies or closed-loop systems.
  • Excellent project management abilities to oversee multi-phase sustainability initiatives.
  • Fluency in both English and local languages for cross-departmental communication.

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Master’s Degree in Sustainable Systems preferred.

Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in industrial engineering with a focus on sustainability.
  • Previous work in textile manufacturing or renewable energy sectors is advantageous.

Salary

150,000 – 200,000 Dinar annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
